Product Description
Marissa + Robert Road to Recovery On August 11th Robert & Marissa welcomed their third baby, Oakley, into this world! After delivering a healthy baby Oakley, Marissa hemorrhaged and required a blood transfusion. After Marissa’s bleeding stabilized the new family of 5 went home to settle into their new routine. Just a few days later, Marissa was brought back into the ER due to developing a blood clot. She left the ER on blood thinners, and only a matter of days later she was back in the ER again due to hemorrhaging and had to undergo a D&C in hopes of stopping the bleeding. Once again, she was sent home believing she was on the road to recovery. On Sunday evening she was back in the ER again due to hemorrhaging and developing an infection and is currently still in the hospital. Throughout this challenging time, Marissa has had multiple blood transfusions and has had to be away from her young children. Currently the doctors are completing diagnostic imaging to determine whether or not there is still retained tissue in her uterus from her pregnancy. If this is confirmed, Marissa will likely have to undergo another D&C and remain in the hospital longer. The doctors are in contact with specialists in Grand Rapids to continue to determine the best plan of care possible for Marissa. Transferring to Grand Rapids is also being discussed, should she need it. During these trying two and a half weeks Robert has been unable to return to work due to caring for their young children. This has also included having to take their middle child Kinsley to multiple doctor’s appointments and ultimately a surgery today to have an object removed from her ear. As of now, it is likely that Marissa will continue to be hospitalized for several days. Robert will be trying to return to work, but likely still will not be able to work his regular hours due to childcare. Emotions and worries are at an all time high for this young family as expenses begin to pile up. We are hoping our friends and family may be able to help in any small way to help them through this difficult time. If you are able, please consider donating to this family in their time of need. Donations raised will be put towards gas, groceries, rent, etc. Thank you for your time and consideration.
